Eastern Inspiration - Southern Charm

This modern timber frame home in North Georgia was a case study in collaboration between the New Energy Works divisions. With Architectural Design and Timber Frame on the West Coast, Interior Design and NewWoodworks on the East Coast, and the clients in Georgia, there were many video calls and samples shipped while coordinating details of this project. The prime focus for Interior Design was the kitchen that featured design elements playing off the black steel in the timber frame. Flooring, fixtures, and wall material were selected with the client using local suppliers.

Kitchen

A pantry on the right is hidden behind this functional coffee station complete with a sliding door pass through at the counter level. Coordination with the timber frame to develop the massing of this space was successful across East and West Coast with the client in the South East.

Kitchen / Dining

The kitchen island topped with reclaimed white oak is supported by walnut legs that incorporate a black steel flitch plate style detail to compliment the black steel beams above

Entry Hall

Bringing natural stone inside for a feature wall at the main entrance. The railing is made from custom walnut handrail and balusters with steel posts and guardrails to compliment the steel beam above

The client requested a shallow knife drawer that would create more defined space for utensils. Wanting to keep a symmetrical aesthetic flanking the stove, we kept the drawer faces aligned, hiding the custom drawer function from view.
